Long-Term Running Goals:

  1. PR at everything from the mile up to the marathon. I'm pretty competitive and I have a lot of room for improvement.

  2. Run more of the majors. So far I've only done Chicago but Boston and New York are next on the list for me.

Running Start:

I started running as a kid, racing my first 5ks at 7 years old. My dad was a pretty prolific road racer when I was a kid and I tagged along quite a bit. I still have a sheet that he kept with all my race times from the 90's and early 2000's. After a pretty injury prone HS cross country career I took ~10 years off from running but found my way back to it in 2019 (pre-pandemic!) and I've been pretty serious ever since.

Fun Facts:

  • I have two wonderful kids and a white standard poodle named Edwina -- hence the early.

  • I have an uncle named George (George Costanza).

  • One of these facts is not true, but I wish it was.

Most Memorable Race:

My most memorable run was the Ventura Marathon, 2023. It was my 8th full marathon. After struggling to PR and BQ in my prior three races and a disappointing performance at CIM, I impulsively signed up for Ventura. Despite a week of rain, Ventura race day was the most perfect conditions: sunny skies and a cool 50 degrees. I got to the start line with low expectations, and everything seemed to click. I had the BEST racing day ever. Even at mile 21-22, I felt surprisingly strong. My goal was to break 3:30, and I ended up getting 3:26! I passed the finish line, crying tears of joy; I could not believe it. After years of distance training, I felt like I finally understood how to run and pace for a full marathon.

Fun Facts:

  • I have a 4 year old terrier mix pup named Luna! She is my pride and joy.

  • I speak Spanish; And, I have spent a few months living in both Spain and Argentina!

  • My favorite candy is Reeses. I am obsessed with them, and have many different types in my pantry at all times.
