4:43 mile. Even though I ran this in high school, it took me 3 years of consistent training and many failed attempts of breaking through the 5 minute "wall".

My DWRunning teammates and running friends inspire me for their discipline, commitment to self-improvement and to achieving their goals. Professional runners like Meb Keflezighi and Deena Kastor who are running strong and breaking masters records at 40 and 42 also inspire me and help me see running as a life-long journey.

Most Memorable Run:
Running through Rome at 6am from St. Peter's square to the Colosseum and back and randomly running into Italian runners who gave me a mini-tour of some hidden spots in the city before parting ways.
Favorite Part of Being a DWRunner:
Teammates are awesome, inspiring, supportive and funny! I love the positive energy of the team.
Mountains or Ocean?:
Mostly oceans as I grew up close to the beach in Venezuela, but I appreciate the mountains majesty. Plus high altitude training has proven benefits for endurance athletes.
Tea or Coffee?:
Coffee most of the time in the morning, but afternoon or evening tea is relaxing.
Early Bird or Night Owl?:
Definitely an early bird since I was a child. I'd get up early to watch cartoons, now I get up early to go to work or runs. I'm a creature of the day because every morning the possibilities are endless, and it's a new chance to keep chasing my dreams!
Chocolate or Vanilla?:
Hands down a chocolate kind of guy. Whether it's a Venezuelan "Toronto" chocolate treat (must try if you haven't), or Andy's chocolate custard in downtown Evanston (another must try). I can appreciate the classic magnums too, which have vanilla instead but I still prefer chocolate any day of the week.
