Motivation to Run:
Challenge, accomplishment, conquest, success. I am motivated by the challenge to always be my best and out-best myself, by knowing that I can continue to do better, and by the feeling of victory when I've surpassed a goal. But a new PR only keeps me on the ground for a moment because the next one is already in sight.
Favorite Place I’ve Run:
Did a 16 mile training run from Amsterdam to New Holland along the Amstel river, and it was the most beautiful and breathtaking run I’ve ever taken. Did another 13 mile training run that ended at a waterfall in Iceland, which is a close second.
Chicago Marathon is still my favorite day of the year, every year. The memory of my first one is one I hold very close.
Motivation when hurting during a race:
Knowing I have people keeping me accountable on Strava.
