Primary Focus:
Marathon and Half Marathon
Proudest PR:
I'm really proud of my half marathon PR because it was an 80 degree day AND (even though it was a small race) I finished first place overall -- male and female!
Motivation to Run:
I feel like a better version of myself after a good run --- I guess that's why I keep coming back for more!
Running Start:
In college I was a diver (springboard not scuba!) which required a lot of mental energy. Running became my outlet because I could just lace up and go without overthinking. After college, I suppose I decided to replace the pain of occasional belly flopping with long distance running!
Most Memorable Run:
My husband (someone who does not share quite the same passion for running) asked me to marry him on a run! He planted the seed about going on a run to the Museum Campus (sort of specific and a litttttttle far for him round trip -- but I thought nothing of it) over the weekend. It was Saturday in December (after we had been over-served at a Christmas party the night before) and before we left the house I asked if he was getting "cold feet" since I wasn't sure either of us were up for a run. Alas -- went anyway. When we got to mile marker 9.5 on the Lakefront Trail he showed me the ring...! Of course I said yes --- and that we could take a cab home :)
