Since working with Dan and the DWRunning team, I have lowered my marathon PR by almost an hour and my half marathon PR by eight minutes. And the exciting part is that this is just the beginning.
Half marathon and full marathon
BOSTON MARATHON! Hands down! The pinnacle for marathon runners outside of the Olympic Trials... and it is a race that non-elites can participate in and run with the best in the world. Looking forward to 2017, because I will be there!
I am currently most proud of my most recent PR in the full marathon distance. It was a hard fought finish, and I had to be mentally tough to finish and finish well. When your legs are on fire, do you listen to that internal voice that says you can't do it or do you kick that voice to the curb and keep on going? :)
Favorite Part of Running:
I enjoy the people. Runners are traditionally very positive, uplifting people and those are the type of people I like to surround myself with.
Motivation When Hurting During a Race or Workout:
I focus on my children... and it was mentioned several times in my last race and it really helped me to reach out of the dark closet into the dark room where I was able to push on.
Reward For a Good Race:
I really like to have a donut. And each time I qualified for Boston, I had a Boston Creme donut to commemorate my accomplishment.
