London Marathon 2016. Since getting into Marathon running about 3 years ago, I have progressively improved upon my times, with specific goals each season, starting with Boston qualification, which I achieved on second attempt. I have managed to take approximately 10 mins off of my PR each season, and London, being run on the streets of my hometown, had a special meaning for me. It was one of those races where everything was aligning - my training had been very much to plan, and race conditions were perfect. I ended with achieving my goal of Berlin qualification, along with 10 minutes off my PR with a time of 2:41:06. The course was fast and flat, with amazing support the whole way around. I was very proud to achieve this on former home territory.
Long-Term Running Goals:
The 2016 Chicago Marathon is my next goal, aiming to get into the low 2:30's. I want to continue to push on the Marathon distance, with an ultimate goal of Olympic trials qualification. While the chances are remote, there is still a chance....
Desired Runner to Share a Run With:
Meb Keflezighi; I love the fact the he is so family oriented, but also keeps a balance with running, which he refers to as his 'job'. Im also inspired by the fact the he will be representing the USA at the Olympics in Rio at the age of 40. Im sure he has a tale or two....
Most Memorable Run:
I once got lost in the woods in a small town just outside of Moscow (yes, Russia!)...that's one for discussion over a beer.
