The marathon! My goal is to qualify for the Olympic Trials in 2020, and keep getting a little better every day.
Going into the 2017 Chicago Marathon (my second), I spent a lot of time thinking about the goal I wanted to aim for. My first attempt at the distance hadn't gone so well and I was a little nervous, but I decided to take a chance, trust myself and my coach, and chase a goal I wasn't certain I was capable of, but just made me excited. The crowds were phenomenal, there was definitely something special about running my hometown race, and I ran even better than I'd hoped. The experience definitely hooked me on the distance!
Favorite Run Location:
Venice - running is one of my favorite ways to explore a new place and it seemed like there was some cool piece of history every block.
I'm a fan of hill repeats (when I can find them, living in Chicago).
I played a lot of sports growing up for fun, but nothing really clicked until I joined my middle school cross country team in 7th grade, where I spent most practices trying to keep up with the boys.
