Trying to set a good example for my daughter inspires me to stay grounded and keeps me in check when I start down the "I can't do it" or "I don't wanna" mindset (which often happens before a hard workout or race). The mental aspect of running has always been the most challenging for me and I want to be a good example to her.
My marathon PR was a perfectly executed race that I am proud of (but hope to crush this year). However, I think my most special run was winning a local 10k while pushing my 1 year old daughter in the stroller (actually, technically she won the race). I am also really proud of pulling off a BQ time at 7 months postpartum and on minimal, very sleep deprived training.
Favorite Place to Run:
Madison, WI - My college town and beautiful scenery (plus an amazing place for post-run "refueling").
Most Memorable Run:
There are so many! One of my funniest moments was seeing a car driving slowly around the neighborhood and freaking out when it kept appearing on every block. I sprinted home and jumped in my car to tail it, only to discover it was the newspaper delivery guy!
