Proudest Race:

17:04 5000m - I ran this at German Nationals in 2016 on my birthday. It was the best gift I could receive!

Most Memorable Run:

When I first moved to Germany for my master's degree, my command of the language was mediocre at best...the coach gave the workout, and I didn't follow a single word. It turns out it was a fartlek, which used landmarks as start and stop points that veterans on the team knew well. To me, it felt like we were sprinting and then jogging without rhyme or reason, and it felt so long. I told one of my teammates the story after I was on the team for a year or so, and she started calling that workout the "confused Josey"
