The marathon -- I have work to do but am focused on qualifying for the Olympic Trials in 2020!
I just ran sub-2:50 at Chicago this year in my first serious marathon in TEN years after having 4 kids so I'm super proud of that effort. Marathon training is a huge commitment and I'm so excited to be able to focus on it in this chapter in my life.
Motivation to Run:
It's my escape from my kids! It's a great stress release but also a reward to just be alone and test my limits. I feel so much gratitude just to be outside doing this everyday.
Deena Kastor, Des Linden, Shelby Houlihan, Allie Kieffer -- gritty women getting sh*t done.
The Oberun 5K in Ann Arbor (near where I'm from) last summer was awesome -- it's an evening race and my family all did it as well and my kids were all there -- I came in 1st female and my Dad won the 70-74 AG that day. I'm not a morning person so evening races are such a treat!
Motivation When Hurting During A Race or Workout:
I count down the intervals or miles and sometimes I swear at myself. Tough love! ;)
