Motivation to Run:
I run for peace. Time to work out stuff in my head. Time to work on writing. A re-start to every day. To feel free. To feel pain. To reach goals. To believe.
Long-Term Running Goals:
I would like to hit an Olympic Trials qualifying time in the marathon. Hey, the older the wiser... and faster?
Most Memorable PR:
I am most proud of the NYC marathon in 2014. It has been a dream of mine to run that since I was a little kid. Just fantasized about it. Then after a few attempts that were snafu'd.. I got to run last year. It was literally a dream come true. I was honored and just grateful to be there and take it all in. The crowd and people were mind blowing. The conditions were insane, and I had not had good training, and had one of the best turned worst races of my life. I still managed to pull off a PR and had no comprehension of that. Gave me a new attitude and drive.
Reward For a Good Race:
DIET DR PEPPER! A good meal, extra pineapple, and bed at 6pm if I feel like it!
Favorite Part of Being a DWRunner:
The positivity, encouragement, inspiration, and having all of that built in to all of the people running alongside you. Heaven.
