Running found me. I had started a career change that was definitely happening but had a long timeline - at least a year. In the meantime, I needed something that would give me immediate, measurable accomplishment. I needed to not feel stuck. My only athletic endeavors to date had been a bit of tennis in high school and downhill skiing. Running presented itself in the form of the CARA Beginning Running program. I never looked back.
Motivation When Hurting During a Race or Workout:
I tell myself to smile like Haile. It works every time.
Chicago Marathon. I became a runner in Chicago so I will definitely return for the marathon one day.
Motivation to Run:
I run because it changed my life and I can't wait to see what it has in store for me. I also run because I drink all the Michigan craft beer.
