Motivation to Run:

Running is a life-long sport which allows me to be a little bit better at something every single day. Small personal progress over the years keeps me grounded and carries over into my work/life balance.

Pre-Race Meal:

32 oz of room temp water with my power oatmeal: steel cut w/ pumpkin seeds, chia, hemp, nuts, dried cherries and raisins.

Most Memorable Run:

Ryan Hall paced me at a 5k. I went way too fast for what I thought I was capable of at the time. I was able to hang on and negative split a hilly course. I realized your mind really does tell your legs what to do.

Running Start:

I was a tennis player. One evening while hitting against the ball machine at a local health club I looked up and saw people running on the indoor track. I thought, I want to do that instead. I stood there marveling at the simplicity of running vs. tennis. The next day, I donated all of my rackets, got fitted for running shoes, jogged 1 mile on an indoor track and the rest is history...

Favorite Part of Being a DWRunner:

I get to be part of a real team! I get to make new friends, cheer like crazy for my teammates during a tough race/workout and then put on my jersey to run proudly for my team.
