Not so much a race or a PR, but I was able to do rim-river-rim at the Grand Canyon this past March. That run was particularly important for me as I had just been medically disqualified to join the Marine Corps and that marked the first step in my new life goal to prove to myself that I am in fact capable of putting my body through hell and back in-spite of what some Navy doctor thinks.
I have some freaking awesome friends and an amazing wife. Each of them are people of faith and good character who aren't afraid to call me out when I am sucking at life and congratulating me when I do things well.
Any time I am able to get back to the dirt roads in Iowa or my family farm, I am on cloud nine.
Favorite Part of Running:
The grosser the conditions the better. If you are going to do something that puts you in pain, you might as well do it in epic fashion when all of creation is telling you to go home.
Mountains or Ocean?:
Mountains, without question.
Tea or Coffee?:
Coffee. The cheaper the better.
Early Bird or Night Owl?:
Chocolate or Vanilla?:
Bolded PRs are PRs run while training with DWRunning.
