Marathon, despite only having run one.
I am most proud of my first (and only) marathon, where I ran 2:59:51 and BQ'd. I was sick with mono and herniated disks in my back in the buildup for the marathon but was prepared enough (by Dan) to go out and run a great race.
Long-Term Running Goals:
My long-term running goal is to become a good marathoner. If I had time goals, it would be to break 2:40 in the full marathon and 1:15 in the half marathon.
My Senior year sectional meet in high school was probably my favorite race because I wasn't trying or expecting to qualify for State, but made all the right moves at the right times and managed to finish well ahead of what I was even considering to be possible
"Life at These Speeds" by Jeremy Jackson. It's an incredible book about a teenage runner who uses running to cope with the traumatic loss of his team and is guaranteed to have you in tears. Incredible.
I always need to wear the same race gear. Every piece of clothing that I race in must be the same from race to race. I also need to do a last second set of jumps.
Favorite Part of Being a DWRunner:
My favorite part of being on the DWRunning team is the camaraderie. Everyone is so incredibly friendly and supportive of one another even if they have never met. Those who have met all work hard to push one another and become better runners.
